Money and invoices

Invoices from the contract, chased on a schedule, and marked paid in one place.

On the Complete plan, a signed contract's payment schedule becomes invoices. Each is sent on time and followed by polite reminders, then firmer ones; at three weeks late you are told, and the couple are not. Nothing sends between 8pm and 8am where they are, and never more than once a day.

Money shows what is owed, what is overdue and what is paid across every wedding. When a payment arrives, record it and the reminders stop. Pause the chasing on any invoice if something has come up.

The couple's invoice shows what is owed and how to pay by bank transfer, with the invoice number as the reference. Your bank details, the letters before each invoice number and your VAT number are in Settings, Business, Payments.

Card payments

Couples can pay by card too, once you set it up on the same page. Stripe opens an account in your business's name and asks for your identity and bank details on its own pages, so we never see them. The money goes straight into your account: I Said Yes takes nothing, and Stripe takes its own fee from each payment. A card payment marks the invoice paid by itself and stops the reminders. Payouts and refunds are in your Stripe dashboard, and a refund made there shows on the invoice.
